The inspiration behind my pieces is a clear reference to the beautiful costumes and photography in the film "Only lovers left alive". A film by Jim Jarmusch with a clever and darkly funny association with the day life and the meditation about love, humanity and ordinary pleasures, that make life worthwhile. Everyday pleasures, such the jewellery could be.

Made in 2011 for "Projecte Sal: Hangzhou - Barcelona. I explored new ways to wear the jewels and to comunicate the idea of preserve something valuable.

The scars are testament to work made by hand and the development of a trade. They can be the result of a mistake, but the result of experience. They are very valuable. Silver, resin and gold leaf. Special mention in the "Mestre Artesà 2014"contest.

“Distance” represents the edges that face the Atlantic Ocean of two countries , Brazil and Portugal, the place of origin and residence of the person for whom the piece was created. Separating them is a sea, a culture , and a territory. The piece represents the limits and boundaries, but also the bond and connection that are preserved with the culture and place from which we come and those which are created at the moment of arrival in a new place.
